Over the past year, we brought our company a fresh look and a fresh perspective while retaining the people, places, and strategic approaches you’ve grown to know and trust. Our team continues to deliver the authority and expertise you rely on, built from our historic knowledge and analysis of the markets. Even the new Martin logo reflects our ability to stay fixed on target, with fletches that represent our three specialty areas of office, retail, and industrial real estate.

At Martin, we’ve worked hard to never stray from our humble beginnings on Vine Street—both physically and philosophically. Back then, my father William G. Martin was inspired by the passion he saw in Lansing’s business and development communities. With the support and business talents of my mother Nanette VanDervoort, “Pop” set out to find a way to contribute to the vision held by businesses, families, and civic leaders, and came upon residential real estate. Driven to be the very best for the community, Pop built a full-service company that provided brokerage, property management, and development to service client needs from start to finish.

Today, our headquarters are within a half-mile of my father’s original office, still positioned within the gateway corridor to East Lansing and Lansing. It’s true our footprint has grown beyond that original three-person office. And it’s true we service areas beyond Greater Lansing and Michigan— reaching 16 countries on five continents. But one thing hasn’t changed at all: our commitment to being your trusted partner in the economic development and prosperity of your community.

So while we’ve never shifted our aim, we did put new arrows in the bow. Hence—welcome to The Quiver: our new way of bringing you the news and views of the businesses and communities that define us. In each issue, we’ll feature our specialty areas of office, retail, and industrial real estate, as well as our property management, development services, and clients. We’ll also dive in and add perspective to our regular market briefs that keep you up-to-date on trends and strategic transactions that drive your business decisions.
