Business Spotlight: Baryames Cleaners

A local, long-time business, Baryames Cleaners, recently celebrated 100 years of providing superior cleaning services to the community.

Baryames Cleaners has 12 locations across Mid-Michigan, and several feature a drive-thru. It offers a range of services including dry cleaning, washing and folding, wedding dress cleaning and preservation, and specialty cleaning.

Siblings Katina and Art Baryames are third-generation Baryames business owners, leading a company that was originally started by their grandfather, Art Baryames, who came from Greece to the United States in 1884. He opened a shoeshine stand on Washington Avenue in Lansing that expanded when his sons purchased gas stations and turned them into dry-cleaning stores and tuxedo shops.
